Gary A. Finley, 53, of 102 W. 4th St., Andalusia, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

He was born March 17, 1948 in Moline, the son of Harry and Mary Jane (Walston) Finley. He married Donna Hilderbrand March 21, 1969, in Andalusia.

He was a laborer for local union 309 for 29 years, retiring January 1998. Concurrent with this and after retirement, he was a commercial fisherman on the Mississippi.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and trapping.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; four daughters; nine grandchildren; and two brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Phoebe Guthrie; and brothers, Harry Finley Jr., Robert Finley and Richard Finley.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial is in Andalusia Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the family.
