He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University. Sterling was a mechanical design engineer for several companies over the years. He was a member of the American Chemical Society.
Sterling was a member of Ziegels Lutheran Church in Breinigsville. Sterling most enjoyed his cat, riding his motorcycle on open roads, and was always reading and studying.
He is survived by his mother; sister; Wendy Blake and husband Roger of Folsom, CA. Also, his niece, Amanda Blake.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Keller Funeral Home, 1018 Church St., Fogelsville, with the Rev. Andrew Meckstroth officiating.
Interment will be at Ziegels Union Cemetery.
