Calvin Campbell, Sr. was born September 19, 1963 in Lugoff, South Carolina. He was the beloved son of the late Frank Campbell, Jr. and Marie Porter-Campbell. He quietly passed away at the age of 54, at the William Jennings Dorn VA Medical Center. In addition to his parents, Calvin was predeceased by his sister: Christine Campbell; and baby boy Campbell. 

Calvin, affectionately known as “Bootie” or “Bootleg”, attended Camden High School in Camden, South Carolina. After completion of high school, he went on to enlist in the United States Army, serving from 1981 to 1991 before being honorably discharged.

He is survived by his loving fiancée of seven years: Shirley of the home; son: Calvin (Kiera) Campbell, Jr.; daughter: Jayden A. Campbell; three sisters: Dorothy M. Campbell, Rosa M. Campbell and Luanna (Mack) Lyles; twin brother: Kavin (Lorie) Campbell, all of Camden, South Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews all of whom will miss him dearly.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 6 PM to 7 PM at Bostick Tompkins Funeral Home, 2930 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC 29203. Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 10 AM at Bostick Tompkins Funeral Home, 2930 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC 29203. Interment followed at 12 PM at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229. Bostick Tompkins Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
