Wyoming County Times, February 13, 1913:
The death of John Truesdell occurred at his home on the West Hill in the town of Warsaw, last evening, February 12th about 8:00. Mr. Truesdell had been in his usual health and was up around his home all day yesterday, and until about 15 minutes before his death. The deceased was born in Caldwell, N.Y., in July 1829, being past 83 years of age at the time of his death. His second wife was Miss Nellie A. Gifford, to whom he was married on September 6, 1874, and who died Nov. 26th, 1907. For the past 35 years, Mr. Truesdell had been Overseer of the Poor for the Town of Warsaw and was the nominee on the Progressive Ticket for the coming election. Surviving him are 10 children, Dr. Z. G. Truesdell, Mrs. Albert Humphrey, William Truesdell and Nellie Truesdell all of Warsaw, Arthur Truesdell of Bliss, and 5 of his first marriage, Frank and Edwin of Lyons, Kansas; John of Hutchinson, Kansas; George of Mohall, N. D.; and Mrs. Grace Briggs of Oakfield, N.Y.; also one sister Mrs. Mary Hull of New York and Hiram Truesdell of Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2:00, Rev. S. D. Huff officiating.
