Mrs. Blanche E. Coffey, 67, of Route 2, Afton, died Tuesday, December 11, at noon at her home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Coffey was born in North Carolina on December 27, 1905, a daughter of the late Leslie and Rosa Elizabeth Hughes Duncan. She was the wife of Jesse Lee Coffey and a member of Hebron Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Surviving besides her husband are one son, Kenneth Lee Coffey; two daughters, Mrs. James W. (Annie) Higginbotham and Mrs. Edward Lee (Vera) Bishop, all of Afton; two brothers, L. Burgess Duncan and Virgil J. Duncan, both of Afton; six sisters, Mrs. Forrest T. (Iva) Duncan of Faber, Mrs. Rockwell (Thena) Bean of Laconia, N.H., Mrs. William E. (Elza) Rittenhouse, Mrs. Luther (Ada) Rittenhouse, Miss Iola Duncan and Miss Lillian Duncan, all of Afton; and four grandsons and one granddaughter.

She had been preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were held today (Thursday) at 2 P.M. at Hebron Baptist Church, Avon, conducted by Rev. John L. Chafee, Rev. Scott C. Hutton and Rev. Ronald J. Nickell. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Hale Rittenhouse, Robert Rittenhouse, W. McNeel Rittenhouse, Alden Rodes, James Duncan and Rev. Sidney Craig.
