The son of Peter & Anna Maria (Reinhard) Breighner and stepson of Anna Maria (Wagaman) Breighner, in 1860 he was a carpenter presumably living with his family in Conewago Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania, although the census for that township does not exist. He stood 5' 6" tall and had light hair and blue eyes. He married Amanda Martha Mandilla Miller February 10, 1863, in Conewago Township and fathered the children you see linked below.
A Civil War veteran, he was federally drafted from Oxford Township, Adams County, mustered into federal service in Chambersburg February 28, 1865, as a private with Co. F, 91st Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company July 10, 1865, in the field.
He reportedly died at the age of 51-0-10. but that calculates to a birth year of 1845. No obituary was found in any online newspaper archive.
