Lawrenceville, Pa. — Jean Rogers Spencer Lehman, 91 of 11 Ryon Circle, Lawrenceville, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2012 in the Broad Acres Nursing Home, Wellsboro, PA.
Born in Corning, NY, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick L. and the late Emma (Hayes) Rogers. She was a graduate of Northside Highschool.
Jean spent most of her life working as a homemaker, and later for Corning, Inc., where she was an inspector, retiring after 10 years service.
She enjoyed working on many crafts, especially working on ceramics and tending her flower beds. She was known for her loving, caring and nurturing ways, especially to her family and many friends. As a lover of movies, she enjoyed having "movie nights" with her friends and grandchildren, choosing from her vast collection of films.
Jean is survived by one daughter: Bonnie (Donald L.) Garrison of Lawrenceville, PA, and two sons: Robert Spencer of Welcome, MN, Larry (Rosemary) Spencer of Addison, NY; step-son: William (Cindy) Lehman, Elko, NV; step-daughters: Sandra (Kent) Kramer, Conway, SC and Nancy (Roger) Cole of Zephyrhills, FL; grandchildren: Kevin (Diane) Reed, Randy Reed, Carrie Spencer, Jessica (Eric) Butterfield, Amy (Richard) Koons, Matthew Spencer, Cory Spencer and April Learn; and by several great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, David Lehman, Jean was predeceased by her brothers: Fredrick Rogers, Robert Rogers and a sister, Marion Borden.
Friends are invited to call at Carpenters Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St. in Corning on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 12 - 2 PM. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 2:00 PM, with the Rev. Allen Hulslander officiating.
There will be a private burial in the family plot at Goodsell Cemetery in Hornby, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be given in Jean's name to the Calvary United Methodist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 237, Lawrenceville, PA 16929 or to the Alzheimer's Association-Rochester Chapter, 435 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620.
