Betty (Ross) Jones Scott, 83, of Route 30A passed away Tuesday, June 9th at her home with family and friends at her side. Betty was born December 1, 1925 in the Town of Wright, a daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Jackson) Ross. She graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1943 and later, began working at the former Van Deusen Dress Shop in Coble- skill for 23 years. She was a waitress for Fred Boreali for nine years and worked at Kintz Plastics in Howes Cave from 1984 to 2007 when she retired due to disability. She was a Cub Scout den mother, census taker in 1960, and a former member of the Central Bridge Civic Association and the Schoharie County Republican Club. A member of the Central Bridge United Methodist Church, a life member of the VFW Post #5088 in Cobleskill, Central Bridge Fire Department Auxiliary for 55 years and served as Secretary, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary #2695. She was married to her first husband, Emery Jones, on April 20, 1945 who died on December 5, 1971. She later married James Scott on September 22, 1973 who predeceased her on November 16, 1997. She was also predeceased by a son, Terry Jones on November 16, 1986. Survivors include one son, Ricky (Michelle) Jones of Esperance; a brother, Kenneth Ross, Sr. of Hagaman; a granddaughter, Susan Jones of Maryland, NY; a grandson, Michael (Corrinne) Kindt, Sr. of Esperance; two great-granddaughters, Natasha and Alexa Nerschl of E. Worcester; one great-grandson, Michael Kindt, Jr. of Esperance; and several nieces and nephews. Many thanks from Betty go out to her long time friend, Ada Cross for helping the family through this difficult time. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 11th at the Langan Funeral Home, 195 N. Main St. Central Bridge where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday June 12th. Burial will follow in the Sloansville Valley Cemetery.
