1LT US ARMY WORLD WAR II

Robert R. Daily Sr., 85, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Fort Sill Cemetery at Lawton, Okla., with Chaplain Maj. Randy Mosteller of Fort Sill and the Rev. John Gillispie officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street.

Mr. Daily was born in Hugo, Okla. He married Vaneta Mock in 1938 at Olustee, Okla.

He was a member of the 18th Field Artillery Association at Fort Sill. He served in World War II Northern France. He was in the Battle of the Bulge and Rhineland Campaign. He served in Japan on occupational duty from 1946-47. He received the Purple Heart in World War II. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert R. Daily Jr. of Amarillo; a brother, Arthur Daily of Lawton, Okla., and a sister, Ruth Bray of Purcell, Okla.; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.The family will be at 5147 Kirk.
