Ida Marie Schumacher, 84, R.R.2, Westport, died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 1987, in the residence of Marie Slone. Schumcher had been in failing health the past eight years.
She was born July 5, 1902, in Connersville, the daughter of Nicholas and Catherine Kuntz Wissel. She had been a resident of Decatur County 40 years. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in North Vernon.
On Sept. 2, 1925, she married August J. Schumacher in Morris, and he survives; with one daughter, Mrs. Vincent (Annabelle) Starke, R.R.1, Westport; three sons, Paul E. Schumacher, R.R.1, Westport, Gerald E. Schumacher, R.R.1, Elizabethtown, and Robert L. Schumacher, Orlando, Fla.; a half sister, Alma Doll, Batesville; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Harvey Wissel.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in North Vernon, with the Rev. Robert Drewes officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in North Vernon.
Visitation will be at the Bass Funeral Home in Westport Friday from 4 to 9 p.m.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
