Norma was a resident of the Dundee/Elgin areas for over 57 years and a longtime and faithful member of St. Monica Church in Carpentersville. Norma served her church as a member of the Bereavement Ministry. She was also a member of the Women’s Sodality. She was also a longtime volunteer at the FISH Food Pantry in Carpentersville. Most of all Norma was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her beloved husband and best friend of 63 years: James Perry. Norma and Jim were married on May 19, 1954 at St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe, NM. Their five children: Barbara (Gary) Ferguson, Christina (Scott Olds) Perry, Angela (Scott) Chesley, Timothy (Laura) Perry and Michelle Perry. Other survivors include her 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; her four brothers; Juan (Mary Jane), Joseph (Louise), James (Florine), Charles Leo (Rosellen) Martinez and her sister; Anita Aldeis as well as countless nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her brothers; Alfredo and Eloy Martinez and sisters; Cora Martinez and Aurora Felix.
Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Monica Catholic Church, Carpentersville with Fr. Carlos Monsalve, officiating. Inurnment will be in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the American Diabetes Association or the FISH Food Pantry, 150 S. Kennedy Dr., #15a, Carpentersville, IL 60110. The Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is assisting the family.
