Delores L. Schad, 88, of Chilton, died Wednesday morning, September 13, 2017 at Atrium Post Acute Care, Chilton where she resided the past four years. She was the former Delores Woelfel, born December 19, 1928 in St. Ann, daughter of the late Arnold and Verena (Hoffman) Woelfel. On May 18, 1948 she married Norman J. Schad at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein. Delores and Norman farmed in the town of Schleswig, where she also raised her family and worked many years at Leverenz Shoe Company. The couple retired to Chilton. Norman preceded her in death on August 9, 1997.

Delores was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill, where she was an active member of the Christian Women and choir member. She was also a member of the Manitowoc County Homemakers. Delores enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers. She enjoyed her time at Atrium and was well known as the social butterfly. Delores loved playing Sheepshead with the residents and enjoyed spending time visiting with her friends and their families along with all those he came to visit.

She is survived by her five children: Rosemary (David) Bartel, Chilton, Wilfred (Donna) Schad, Chilton, Ronald (Jean) Schad, Manitowoc, Ann Marie (John) Miklich, Cave Creek, AZ, Todd (Lori) Schad, Sheboygan Falls; 16 grandchildren: Christopher (Michelle) Bartel, Richard Bartel, Michele Lyons, Michelle (Robert) Wollersheim, Mike (Monique) Mader, Dean Schad, Susan (Sherman) Knott, Dale (Jen) Basler, Derrick (Jill) Basler, Elizabeth (Max) Schmitt, Nicholas, Sylvia, and Vincent Schad, Jonathon, Emma and Gwen Schad. She is further survived by 22 great grandchildren, one son-in-law: Kenneth Close Jr., sister: Shirley (Robert) Ficks; sisters-in-law: Janice Woelfel, Helen Schad and Janice Schad and brothers-in-law: Ervin Madson and Glenroy (Brenda) Franzen, other relatives and friends.

Delores was preceded in death by her daughter: Donna Close, three grandchildren: Denise and Donald Basler and Melissa Bliske; three brothers: Alvin (Pearl), Roland (Marie) and Leroy Woelfel as well as numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Mass of Christian Burial for Delores will be held at 6:00PM on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. Officiating at the service will be Fr. Patrick Nelson S.D.S. with Deacon Dennis Bennin assisting, with burial to take place at the church cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Church on Friday from 3:00PM until 5:45PM when brief family rites will be held.
