Miss Alice Mervine was found dead in bed at her home in New Boston Street Wednesday afternoon about 5 o'clock. Coroner S. T. Barton who was called attributed death to heart trouble. Miss Mervine has lived in Canastota practically all her life and was educated in the Canastota schools. (note-This statement is incorrect. Alice did not move to Canastota until her mother died, at which time she was 42 years old. She never attended school in Canastota) She was an expert bookkeeper by profession. She was also prominent in Presbyterian church circles for many years.

The only survivor is Miss Alice Mervine, a niece. (note-This statement is incorrect. There was no Alice, but her niece, Mildred Mervine, had lived with her in Canastota. She also had another niece and four nephews who survived her. They were all the children of her bother, William Mervine.)

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Presbyterian church with Rev. A. D. Stearns, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in Mt. Pleasant cemetery
