Mrs. Kate Christian, 75, of Route 1, Stuart, died Thursday. She was born in Texas on April 10, 1868, but had been a resident of Pittsburg County for 45 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Ashland Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Carter officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery at Ashland. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Zora Battles of Route 1, McAlester, Mrs. Minnie Battles of Duncan, Mrs. Lillie Grubbs of Ashland, and Mrs. Essie Kalkup [sic] of Coalgate; five sons, Estel Christian and Tom Christian, both of Ashland, Roy Christian of Seagraves, Tex., and Marvin Christian and Everett Christian, both of Portes, N.M.; one brother, Will Smith, Texarkana, Tex.; 34 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
