July 11, 1925 - September 12, 2017 Sadie Johnson, 92, of Logston Heights in Berea, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at her home. She was born July 11, 1925, in Pike County, Kentucky, to the late Talmadge and Ada Hall Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Johnson. She had been a homemaker and was a member of the Berea Church of Christ.
Mrs. Johnson was the loving mother of 13 children: the late Barbara (Oscar) Gregory, William L. (Ruby) Johnson, Flonnie (the late James) Coffey, Bonnie (Allen) Alexander, Shirdy (Norma Faye) Johnson, the late Alma (the late Norman) Hall, Ina (Larry) Abrams, Brenda (Richard) Saylor, the late Allen Luke Johnson, Ada (Jeff) Bowman, Mildred (Russ) Chamberlin, Kenneth (Lorri) Johnson, and Kenny L. Johnson.
In addition to her parents, husband, and three children, she was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, one grandchild, one great grandchild, and one great-great grandchild. Sadie is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 25 great-great grandchildren, and many friends and family from church.
Funeral services for Sadie Johnson will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the Berea Church of Christ with Bro. Scott Pena officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery on Kindred Lane in Berea. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 at Lakes Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be: David Alexander, Lester Sparks, Jeffery Johnson, Ben Bowman, Clifford Coffey, Joseph Saylor, Adam Johnson, and Billy Johnson.
