Born in Curtis on May 9, 1936, she was a daughter of the late John & Anna (Hamill) Conley. Betty attended Curtis School. On July 23, 1966 she married Floyd Brown in Curtis where they made their home and raised their family. Betty was an avid reader, especially enjoying mysteries and romance novels, but would read anything cover to cover. She also enjoyed her flower garden. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Floyd on December 31, 1998 and siblings Henry, Bessie, Sarah, Edith, Jane, Margaret, Tom, and John.
Survivors include her sons John and James (Kristine Uhlbeck), both of Curtis; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and her sisters Rose Matelski of Newberry and Audrey Robinson of Curtis.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation services have already been accorded. A family gathering with inurnment will occur at Woodlawn cemetery in Curtis at a later date.
