Eva Marie Deal Mathis Star of Melbourne, Arkansas formerly of Wichita, Kansas

Eva Marie Deal Mathis Star, daughter of the late Alfred Baxter Deal and Carrie Merrell Mathis, was born February 1, 1929 in Wiseman, Arkansas. She departed this life September 12, 2017 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 11 days. She was united in marriage twice. First to Burl Mathis in 1946 and together they had two children. After Burl’s death, she married Mcroy Star until his death in 1991. She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of South Riverside Baptist Church in Riverside, Kansas.

She is survived by one sister: Audie Lowden of Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren: Laura Sipe of Melbourne, David Rush of Ash Flat, Heather Blackburn of Sunnyside, Washington and Daniel Mathis of Grandview, Washington; nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one son: Danny Mathis and one daughter: Carolyn Rush.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
