Glen L. Lawrence, 94, of Brazil, Indiana passed away unexpectedly, September 7, 2017 at his home.

Glen was born Clay County, on May 8, 1923 the son of Leonard and Ethel (Carpenter) Lawrence. He served his country during WWII first with a private company in Panama. Then, at the age of 17, he joined the United States Army where he served until he was honorably discharged in 1945. He married Rosanna Alice White on February 9, 1946. She passed away on April 5, 1995.

Glen drove a truck for a living. Over the years he had worked with several area companies namely Gibson Coal and Johnson Coal. He retired from Underwood Trucking in 1979. Glen loved visiting with people, tinkering and telling stories. He also enjoyed watching the Indy 500 and WWF and WWE Wrestling.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Leonard and Ethel Lawrence; his wife Rosanna Lawrence; two sons: Lee Lawrence and Terry Lawrence; grandchildren: Bradley Brunett, Mikie Kester, Brianna Wilkerson, Jeremy Day and Jeff Lawrence; son-in-law Gordon Lane; siblings: Paul Lawrence, Jack Lawrence, John "Toby" Lawrence, Carl Lawrence and Helen Marie Lawrence.

He is survived by 7 children: Peggy Hines of Brazil, Jo Ann Wilkerson (Bruce Clawson) of Brazil, Donna Lane of South Carolina, Glenda Brunett (Scott) of Harmony, Georgia Kester (Mike) of Brazil, Tonya Bex of Terre Haute and Angelia Anderson of Brazil; 22 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; two brothers: Jim Lawrence of Knightsville and Donnie Lawrence (Shirley) of Harmony; a special friend Susie Foster as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 4-8pm. Services will be at the funeral home, Monday, at 11:00am with Pastor Mark Mullinix officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
