Rev. Salmon Treat, s. of Lieut. James Treat & Rebecca Latimer, b. circa 1672 at Wethersfield, Conn. He d. at Preston, Conn. Jan. 6, 1762, Æ 90. There is no extant record regarding Salmon's actual date of birth and there are no surviving baptism records at Wethersfield prior to the late 1690s arrival of Rev. Stephen Mix. Salmon's gravestone infers he was b. AFTER Jan. 20, 1671/2 and BEFORE Jan. 20, 1672/3.

On Apr. 28, 1698 at Stonington, Conn., Salmon m. 1) Dorothy Noyes, dau. of Rev. James Noyes & Dorothy Stanton, b. January 22, 1675/6 at Stonington. She d. Dec. 6, 1714 at Preston, Conn., Æ 39.

An extended bio will be added later. In the interim, the children of Rev. Salmon Treat & Dorothy Noyes, all b. of record at Preston, Conn. (the eldest bapt. at Stonington, the rest at Preston), are:

• i. Anna Treat, b. Aug. 26, 1699 (bp. Oct. 15, 1699 at Stonington, Conn. by her maternal grandfather), d. Mar. 17, 1777 at Stonington, Conn., Æ 78; m. Oct. 25, 1721 at Stonington, Conn. by her father to Jonathan Richardson, Jr., s. of Jonathan Richardson & Ann Edwards, b. prob. at Stonington but bp. at Hartford, Conn. Nov. 21, 1697. He d. Nov. 22, 1773 at Stonington, Æ 77. Nine children of the family.

• ii. James Treat, b. Nov. 29, 1700 (bp. Dec. 1); d. unmarried and impaired at Preston June 25, 1774, Æ 74.

• iii. Dorothy Treat, b. Feb. 9, 1702/3 (bp. same day), d. Jan. 13, 1795 at Preston, Conn., Æ 93; m. Sept. 20, 1725 at Preston, Capt. John Brewster, s. of Capt. & Dea. Daniel Brewster [Benjamin3, Jonathan2, Elder William1 of the Plymouth Colony & 1620 Mayflower] & Hannah Gager, b. July 18, 1695 at Preston, Conn. where he d. Aug. 29, 1776, Æ 82. Ten children of the family.

• iv. Jerusha Treat, b. Nov. 21, 1704 (bp. Nov. 24); d. unmarried and impaired at Preston Aug. 8, 1771, Æ 67.

• v. Prudence Treat, b. Nov. 23, 1706 (bp. same day); m. Dec. 10, 1762 at North Stonington (2nd Chh.) at an advanced age, Capt. Daniel Stanton. The date of her death cannot be found.

• vi. Sarah Treat, b. Sept. 19, 1708 (bp. same day), d. Nov. 14, 1754 at Preston, Conn., Æ 47; m. May 10, 1737 at Preston, Thomas Partridge, who d. at Preston May 26, 1781. Eight children of the family. Thomas was the gr. grandson of the immigrants George Partridge & Sarah Tracy of Duxbury, Mass.

• vii. Rebecca Treat, b. June 29, 1710 (bp. July 2); m. May 2, 1741 at Norwich, Conn., Jonathan Jackson. Three children recorded at Norwich, but there may have been others.

• viii. Rev. Samuel Treat, b. July 21, 1712 (bp. July 27), d. Sept. 16, 1773 at Preston, Conn, Æ 62; m. Dec. 23, 1751 at Preston, Elizabeth Stark, dau. of Christopher Stark & Joanna Walworth, b. Dec. 23, 1730 at Groton, Conn. She d. at Preston Sept. 19, 1772, Æ 42. Ten children of the family.

• ix. Jemima Treat, b. Nov. 27, 1714 (bp. Nov. 29); no further certain record.

Following the death of wife Dorothy, Rev. Salmon m. a Mary Park(e) at Preston Nov. 6, 1716. Her identity is not settled and she may not be as historically claimed. There are no known children of this second marriage, and when and where Mary died is not of record.

On the day Salmon died he was 89 years old, and Ætatis suæ (i.e., Æ, "Aged," in the XX year of his Age) 90. This infers he was b. AFTER Jan. 20, 1671/2 and BEFORE Jan. 20, 1672/3.
