Jerry Deken, 75, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital.

Jerry was born in Evansville, August 19, 1942, the son of the late Raymond and Ruby (McCann) Deken. After graduating from Central High School in 1960, he joined the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. Jerry married his sweetheart, Brenda (Whitney) Deken, and they had 38 wonderful years together before Brenda passed away in 2003. He retired from Whirlpool after 42 years of service. Jerry was an incredible handyman. There was nothing that he couldnft fix or build. He had a giving heart and would help anybody that he could. Jerry was a wonderful Papaw to his grandchildren and best friend to his beloved dog, Mickey.

He is survived by his children, Teresa Keown (Thomas) and Kenny Deken (Dana) both of Evansville; siblings, Shirley Winterheimer (Roy) and Donald Deken; grandchildren, Kasey, Austin, Zachary Keown, and Olivia Deken.

Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Brenda (Whitney) Deken; siblings, Delores Creech, Judith Gilles, Larry, Marvin, and Charles gTommyh Deken,

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Monday, September 11, 2017 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville with Father Ted Temple officiating and the Retired Vanderburgh County Veterans will render full military rites. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Ebenezer, KY.

Friends may visit from 2 pm until 6 pm, Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
