William Parshall Terry was the son of David Terry and his wife Mary Ann Cunningham.

William was married to Mary Jane Hosea, daughter of Robert Hosea and his wife Eliza Jane Smith.

Sometime after the death of her husband, Mary Jane immigrated to the United States. In 1940, Mary Jane aged 80, lived with her daughter Jessie McKinley aged 47, her son-in-law Orloff Roy McKinley aged 47 and two of their sons Leroy aged 23 and Burns aged 16. A Michigan death registry indicates that Mary Jane Hosea was born October 14, 1859 in Linwood, Ontario and died February 25, 1951 in Ferndale, Oakland County, Michigan.

William and Mary had 4 children:

1. Eunice Estelle Terry, born August 1, 1884.

2. Edward Blake Terry, born August 31, 1888 in Wellesley Township, Waterloo County, Ontario. Sometime after the death of his father, Edward and his brother William immigrated to the United States. The 1921 City Directory of Rochester, New York lists Edward B. Terry and William W. Terry living at 399 State Street. Both brothers were employed as Finishers at 129 Mill Street, Rochester, New York. Edward never married. At the time of his death, Edward was employed as an Auto Worker. He suffered a fractured chest after being struck by a vehicle and died as a result of pneumonia.

3. William Walden Terry, born March 25, 1891. The 1919 US City Directory for Rochester, New York records William W. Terry living at 116 Troup Street. Rochester, New York and employed as a Finisher. The 1921 Directory for Rochester, New York lists William W. Terry and Edward B Terry living at 390 State Street, Rochester and both brothers were employed as Finishers. According to the 1930 US Federal Census, William aged 48, employed as a Finisher at Show Case Company, was living with his sister Jessie McKinley, her husband Orloff McKinley and their children LeRoy aged 14 and Burns aged 6, at 330 Woodland Avenue, Ferndale, Oakland County, Michigan. William was twice married. He married the divorced Ella Cross, daughter of Ernest Pearson (FaG # 135842726) and his wife Emma Cutler (FaG 135842683) on February 19, 1936 at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. (Wayne County Michigan Marriage License # 464184). Ella had a daughter from her first marriage, Shirley Cross (FaG # 79768236) who lived with William and Ella, in Detroit, Michigan, according to the 1940 Census. William's second marriage was to the divorced Mae Elsa Kershaw, daughter of Abraham Piira and his wife Elsa Luttinen, on December 30, 1950 at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. 4. Jessie Terry, born September 23, 1892. Jessie married Orloff Roy McKinley, son of James McKinley and his wife Mary Jane Moore, on January 27, 1915 in Toronto, York County, Ontario. Orloff was born August 11, 1892 in New Brunswick, Canada.
Jessie and Orloff had 4 children: Mary McKinley born and died 1914, Leroy Edward McKinley born November 6, 1916; died 1991, Burns Orloff McKinley born October 2, 1924; died 1968, Howard Lloyd McKinley born 1920. The McKinleys lived at 330 Woodward Avenue, East, Ferndale, Oakland County, Michigan. Orloff was employed as a Machinist at an Auto Parts Factory. Jessie McKinley died in 1974. Orloff McKinley died in 1965.

The Wesleyan Methodist Baptismal Records, Volume 2, Page 379 for the District of Waterloo County, record that William Parshall Terry, born July 29, 1860 in Wellesley, and his sister Sarah Ann Terry, born June 30, 1863 in Wellesley, were baptized on July 3, 1864 by Rev. J.Crane in Wellesley.

The 1891 Census of Canada, Waterloo County, records William Terry aged 31, a store keeper, his wife Mary Jane aged 30, daughter Eunice aged 6, son Edwin aged 2, Hanerd aged 0/12, and William's sister Emily aged 22, a dressmaker.

The 1891 Union Publishing Company's Farmer's and Business Directory for the Counties of Halton, Waterloo and Wellington, for Linwood, Ontario lists:

William Terry - grocer

The 1901 Census of Canada for Waterloo County lists William Terry aged 41, Grocer, his wife Mary aged 40, and their children Eunice aged 16, Edward aged 12, William aged 10, and Jessie aged 8.

The Waterloo Chronicle Telegraph from October 13th 1910 published the following obituary:
" The remains of the late William Terry who was a son-in-law of Mr. Robert Hosea and who died in Toronto on Saturday October 1st after a lingering illness were brought to Linwood on the following Tuesday the funeral being held from his place to the Hawkesville cemetery where the remains were interred. Mr. Terry is survived by his wife and a grown-up family of sons and daughters
