Leland Wright, 83, West Highway 80, Somerset, KY departed his earthly life on Sunday, February 25, 2007 to his eternal home.
He was the son of the late Asbury and Ollie Foster Wright. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church #2 of Nancy, KY. Leland was a retired carpenter of Local Union 1650 and a 26 year Cancer survivor.
He was a World War II Army Veteran and he was a recipient of an Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 3 bronze stars.
Leland is survived by his wife, Maxine Dagley Wright; four sons, Robert (and Relada) Merrick of Monticello, KY, Larry (and Mary) Light of Somerset, KY, Donald (and Pam) Light of Collyville, TX and Roger Wright (and his fiancee, Jennifer) of Nancy, KY; four daughters, Velma (and Roy) Abbott of Nancy, KY, Peggy (and Benny) Strunk of Somerset, KY, Brenda Mayfield of Somerset, KY and Linda (and Dean) Chandler of Science Hill, KY; one brother, Lowern (and Denise) Wright of Lexington, KY; 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Leland was preceded in death by; his parents; two brothers, Homer and Emmitt Wright; one grandson, Alex Barron; one great grand daughter, Chelsie Carrender; and two sons-in-law; Clovis "Duke" Mayfield and Charlie Fikes.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Weddle officiating. Burial followed in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The American Legion Post # 38 conducted Military honors for Mr. Leland Wright.
