MARY ELIZABETH LINN ELLIS went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 6, at home following a short illness.

Born January 22, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio, she graduated in 1940 from Willard High School and Tiffin Business College. She entered the military as a WAC and was a veteran of World War II, where she served as a medical technician stateside. She was honorably discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. Mary was a member of the American Legion O'Brien Post #326.

Her love of children led Mary to be a foster parent for Richland County Children's Services for 43 years. She was a caring and loving person and a devout Christian. Her joys were her family, genealogy research, reading, history and her dogs.

She is survived by her son Robert (Peggy) Ellis of Ashland; daughters Elizabeth (Tom) Watkins of Shelby, and Janet Ellis of Loudonville; foster daughter Jennifer Ellis of Mansfield; husband Robert Ellis Sr; brother Lloyd Linn of Washington; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents William C. and Lillian Linn, and her son William J. Ellis in 2015.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of North Central Ohio and Knox County for their caring services.

Funeral and burial services will be private and conducted by Barkdull Funeral Home of Shelby. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio.
