Married Ann Prescott 11/17/1785 at Halifax. SO Rev Eleazer & Prudence Cary

Born in Killingly, Conn., October 20, 1759; died in Halifax, July 7, 1842 aged 83 years. He was graduated at Dartmouth College in 1784, and then joined his uncle Joseph Fairbanks in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A man of much ability and force of character, he was a useful and public-spirited citizen of the young city by the sea, and a prominent magistrate. He inherited a large property from his uncle, on which he erected several buildings. He gave his numerous family every advantage in the way of education that was within his reach, and left his children the heritage of an upright and honorable name. He married, Nov. 17, 1785, Ann Prescott, who was born in Halifax, 12 October, 1766 and died September 1, 1850 aged 85 years. She was a daughter of Jonathan Prescott, who was born in Littleton, Mass., May 24, 1725. Her mother was Ann Blackden. The Prescotts and Blackdens were families of high standing.

1. Joseph, born Feb. 8, 1787; fell off a wharf, and was drowned, Oct. 10, 1788.
2. Joseph Prescott, born Oct. 15, 1788; died Sept. 11, 1789.
3. Charles Rufus, born Mar. 25, 1790.
4. John Eleazer, born June 27, 1793; died Dec. 27, 1860.
5. Samuel Prescott, born Jan 31, 1795.
6. William Blagden, born Apr. 17, 1796.
7. George Edward, born Feb. 18, 1798.
8. Mary Ann, born Mar. 23, 1800; married David Allision, who engaged in business with William B. Fairbanks, brother of his wife, under the firm of Fairbanks & Allison. He died at Flat Rock, N.S., July 5, 1857. She died in April 1896, aged 96 years.
9. Frances Elizabeth, born Feb. 22 1803; married Rev. John Scott, of the St. Matthews (Scotch) Presbyterian Church, who officiated for many years in the church at Halifax. She died Dec. 22, 1854. He baptized every member of the family and united several of them in matrimony.
10. Joseph, born Aug. 19, 1805.
