Frank Stella, 92, of New Buffalo passed away at the Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.

Frank was born April 26, 1925 in Chicago, IL to the late Felix and Theresa (Folino) Stella. Frank served his country as a paratrooper while in the U.S. Army during WWII. On September 14, 1957 he married Isabella Price. He was self-employed in shoe manufacturing and also worked at Sullair in Michigan City. Frank was a member of the New Buffalo Rod and Gun Club and also a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church in New Buffalo. He was an avid golfer, bowler and fisherman. Frank was the heart of his family and will be truly missed.

He is survived by his six children – Frank (Mary) Stella of New Buffalo, Paul (Jennifer) Stella of New Buffalo, Tony Stella of Niles, MI, Brenda Fryar of New Buffalo, Paula (Pat) Williams of New Carlisle, IN and Pam (Dave) Carney of Grand Prairie, TX; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brothers – Ronald (Georgia) Stella of Holland, MI and Robert (Sharon) Stella of Three Oaks, MI; and a sister – Theresa (Paul) Hack of New Buffalo. Frank is preceded in death by his wife – Isabella, 2 brothers – Arthur and Felix, and a sister – Angelina Rizzo.

A Celebration of Life service will take place on Thurs., Sept. 7, 1:00pm, at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service on Thurs. from 11:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
