It is unknown as to who Sarah Abernethy's parents where, only from Scotland.
There is record of her arriving a small girl to America as part of the "Robert Dinwiddle" colony which would settle the county of Dinwiddle VA around 1724.

Sarah Abernethy would marry her cousin Robert Abernathy IV in Prince George County VA. Also, Sarah is listed as head of household on the first 1790 Federal Census for Lincoln County NC, even though Robert IV was still alive but probably "infirmed" for bad health.

Sarah Anne Abernathy's burial location is not proven but assumed on her father-n-law's plantation beside her husband Robert Abernathy IV.
