After church use of St. John the Evangelist was discontinued, the church was repurposed as an auction sales room; tombstones in the adjoining churchyard, including the Haynes memorial, were apparently broken up and the area asphalted as a parking lot.

Inscription
Memorials for the Haynes family no longer exist in the St. John Evangelist churchyard, which is now a paved parking lot, but following is an early 20th Century transcription of what was already at that date a deteriorated memorial:
1a) "Robert Haynes, eldest son of Richard Haynes, Esq., of Newcastle, Barbados, died Aberystwith __:7:1853, age 35 years."
1b) "Emily Anne Haynes, eldest daughter of Major Mairis of this Parish, died 22:12:1853, age 28 years."
1c) "Richard Haynes, only son of Robert and Emily Haynes, born 4:1:1850, died 3:7:1884."
1d) "Richard Haynes, Esq., eldest son of Robert Haynes, Esq., of Newcastle, Barbados; died __:11:185_, age 67 years."
2) Jane All___ Haynes, wife of the above Richard Haynes, Esq., died at Clifton 23:6:1872 [sic), age 76 years."
