BOLIVIA, N.C. — Frances Triacheff Von Ville, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully August 28, 2017 at the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick in Bolivia, NC. Frances was born April 10, 1929 in Columbus, OH. She married the love of her life, Phil, in 1947; they moved their young family of three daughters and one son to a small farming community outside of Delaware, OH in 1963. Their fifth child, a daughter, was born a couple years later.
Fran loved many things but the three that topped her list were her family, her cats, and being able to make a difference in her community. She was happiest when she could bring together people to accomplish an improvement that would make everyone's lives much better. To meet ladies in the community and help them meet others new to the area, Fran organized a monthly euchre club in 1965 which still meets regularly. Many of the current members are the daughters and granddaughters of the original members. Brown Elementary School in Kilbourne, OH didn't have a library so Fran, an avid reader, organized other parents with children in the school and was able to raise enough funds to create a library. When the playground at Brown Elementary needed new equipment, Fran was instrumental in bringing parents together to ensure all of their kids had a fun and safe place to play. She was an avid booster of the Buckeye Valley Band and Buckeye Valley Athletics. Fran never failed to have baked goods ready to sale at endless numbers of bake sales. Students and parents knew Fran from her concession stand work at Buckeye Valley High School athletic events, the BV Boosters food tent at the Delaware County Fair and Kilbourne softball games. She was often first to arrive and last to leave. When she heard the mental health clinic in Delaware, OH needed volunteers, Fran put in countless hours helping others. Her love of animals manifested itself through volunteering, rescuing, adopting and donating to the Delaware County Humane Society. She could always be called upon to babysit any 4-legged 'children' whenever the need arose.
Frances is survived by her husband of 70 years, Phil, and their five children, Rita Ciotola (husband Nick Ciotola), Bea Von Ville (husband Larry Sellers), Phil Von Ville Jr. (wife Maria Von Ville), Helena VonVille (husband Siegi Chavez), and Michaele Von Ville-Feuillerat (husband Robert Feuillerat). Her sole surviving sibling, Anna Payne, lives in Zephyrhills, FL. Frances has four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. We will all miss her very much.
Mass will be said in her memory at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Delaware, OH where she was a parishioner for over 50 years and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport, NC which she recently joined. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in memory of Frances Von Ville to Lower Cape Fear Hospice (www.LCFH.org) or the Delaware County Humane Society (www.hsdcohio.org/) so that Fran's love of animals will forever live on.
