Maxine Baker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was called home on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the age of 91. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; son, Randall; sisters, Dixie, Tutie and Hattie; brothers, Ed, Howard, Lloyd, Steve, Ty, Jiggs, Billie and granddaughter, Jackie.

She is survived by her brother Harvey; sisters-in-law Arlene and Elli; son, Joseph and wife Kathy; daughters, Judy, Mickey, Shirley and husband Morty, Ramona and husband Jerry Hudson, Barbara and husband Steve, Jill, Mike, Stan and wife Diana. Maxine leaves 9 grandchildren: Kim, Charlene, Todd, Jenny, Roxanne, Maggie, Jade, Max and Ben; 19 great-grandchildren: Franklin, Theodore, Kayli, Crissy, Michael, Mercedes, Micah, Melanie, Joseph, Matthew, Tiffany, Evan, Emma, Odin, Elliot, Jack, Ollie, Clover and Fox; great-great-granddaughter Aubrey Rose; her beloved Cobb nieces and nephew, her cherished friends at Whorton Springs Baptist Church and Wynde Weaver who has become a member of our family.

A special thank you to Ramona, Joseph and Wynde who, with great personal sacrifice provided the round-the-clock care that allowed Mom to stay in her own home.

Mom lived life to the fullest. She loved God, Sunday morning church with Joseph and Kathy, her family, country music, good food, playing guitar, singing the old songs and a glass of wine.

Her daughter Ramona said it best: She is a Godly woman.

Funeral Service celebrating Mrs. Maxine's life will be 2:PM Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Dekalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Mahan officiating and internment will follow at Young Bend Cemetery. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at DeKalb Funeral Chapel for the service at 2:PM.

Following internment Maxine's family would like to invite you all to her home to share food and memories.
