Virginia was a member of Sweet Adelines of OKC and Moore Sooner Sensations for many years and enjoyed the many competitions and travels with this group. She was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Moore and a member of the Senior Choir. She performed with the choir on many special occasions and always had a solo prepared for everyone’s entertainment. Singing was always very important and enjoyable part of her life in the community. Virginia and her husband, Odell Shaw enjoyed travelling across the US in their motorhome and also made many trips overseas and she also enjoyed numerous cruises with her family and friends. The stories she shared and her beautiful photos of all her various travels were a highlight of family gatherings.
Virgninia is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Reynolds and husband, Richard, Norman, OK; son, David Wallenberg and wife, Nicki, Moore, OK; grandchildren, Tina Floyd and husband, Robert, Jason Lovett, Brian Griffith and wife, Rachel, Mitchell Griffith, Nel Wallenberg, and John Wallenberg; great-grandchildren, Jeff Shaw, Ally Shaw, Megan Floyd, Jason Lovett, Victoria Lovett, Garrett Griffith, Mia Griffith, and Kingston Paredes.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Shaw; parents, Vess and Beatrice Hagerman; daughter, Shirley Jackson; and son, Jack Wallenberg, Jr.
In lieu of flowers a charitable contribution may be made to Frontier Hospice, whose staff gave Virginia the utmost exceptional attention and care; and who led her family throughout this difficult time with unwavering compassion and support.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the chapel of John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.
Interment to follow at Sunnylane Cemetery, Del City, OK.
