Clarence served his Country during World War II and saw action in the European Theatre war where he was wounded in battle.
He came to Columbus in 1946, attended the Ohio State University and received a degree in Bacteriology. He worked for the Ohio State Dept. of Health before returning to OSU where he obtained a degree in dentistry. He was a practicing dentist in Grove City for 36 years before his retirement.
While at OSU, he was a member of Alpha Phi Delta, and Delta Sigma Delta fraternities. He also belonged to the Jaycees, Lions Club, Toastmasters Int., Columbus Dental Society, and Ohio Dental Association. He was an avid reader and loved to play golf, but most of his enjoyment came from being with his family. He was a devoted husband, an adoring father, a doting grandfather, and a loyal friend.
Preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister.
Survived by his wife of 57 years, Flo; his children, Renee (Michael) Haines, Denise (Mark) Gapa, Jim Bonaventure, Jeff (Rae) Bonaventure; grandchildren, Andy, Tommy, Steve and Rachel; step-granddaughter, Katelyn; brothers, Angelo, Alfred, Rudy; sisters, Rose and Virginia; and several nephews and nieces. He will be sorely missed by each and all.
Friends may call on the family December 6 from 1-5 p.m. at the O. R. WOODYARD CO. NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 2990 Bethel Rd. Contributions may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Association or a preferred charity of choice.
