Aramazd Andressian II, known to all who loved him as “Piqui”, was granted his angel wings on April 21, 2017 at the age of 5.

Piqui was born on February 19, 2012 at 7:49 a.m. in Baldwin Park, CA to Ana Estevez.

A precocious child, Piqui was known by family and friends as an amazing child who was generous, loving, intelligent, gentle, sensitive, and brave. Thirty seconds was all it took to fall in love with him. He represented everything that is good in this world.

The aspiring baker loved to bake chocolate-chip cookies, cupcakes, and make pancakes. In addition to baking, Piqui thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and had an affinity for music. He planted a family garden and loved to sing, dance and play his piano.

Piqui is survived by his mother, Ana Luisa Estevez; his maternal grandparents Donna and Orlando Estevez; his aunt and uncle, Shaun and Jennifer Estevez; his cousins, Alexandria, Nathaniel and Liam; and his beloved dogs, Ginger and Charlie.

Funeral services will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church in South Pasadena, CA on July 18, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services are open to family and friends.

Cause of Death: MURDER

***************
Aramazd Jr was last seen alive on April 21 leaving Disneyland with his father.

Aramazd Sr killed his son to get back at his estranged wife because of a bitter custody battle.

“His intentions were to kill the child, kill himself and have everyone point the finger at Ana, as her having something to do with it. He had put some things in motion prior to – months in advance – to point toward her … alleging that she may have had something to do with following him. He felt he was in danger, and he let people know about this” according to a detective with LA County Sheriff's Department.

Aramazd Sr was arrested and charged with the murder of his son in Las Vegas, where he had spent the 47 days prior "socializing." He had applied for a passport, changed his appearance and may have been preparing to flee the country. On June 30th, he was extradited back to Los Angeles.

_____________________________
Aramazd Sr. confessed and told investigators where to find his son's remains once he was brought back to L.A. He told authorities he wanted to have a proper burial for his son, and that he wanted to plead guilty and go to jail right away

A report by the county Department of Children and Family Services said the boy's skeletal remains were found in a wooded area near Lake Cachuma in Santa Ynez on June 30th. The report described the boy as being the victim of "physical and severe neglect."

August 1, 2017
Aramazd Sr, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for the death of his son, 'Piqui' Andressian, at his preliminary hearing in Alhambra.

According to his lawyer, he pleaded guilty partly to avoid the possibility of prosecutors adding a charge that could result in the death penalty.

Aug. 23, 2017
Aramazd Sr was sentenced to 25 years to life

Piqui's mother made this statement after the sentencing:

"He is a monster because he murdered his own child and has yet to show an ounce of remorse," She thanked those who searched for her son and the police and sheriff's officials who investigated his disappearance and killing, but angrily assailed the family court judge and evaluator who handled the couple's custody dispute.

"I ask, how do you sleep at night? Because you refused to take the time to listen objectively and critically evaluate evidence presented, my son is now dead."

She criticized the Department of Children and Family Services workers who she said closed a case that involved the victim and the defendant.

"Was justice served? In my eyes and in my heart, when there is accountability for all, then justice will be served. There will be justice for Piqui and justice for hundreds of other helpless children who have become victims of the broken system."
