Bernice Dangberg
Bernice Dangberg, 81. a lifetime resident of Woodford, Calif., died in the Carson-Tahoe Hospital this morning.
She became a member of the Alpine County supervisors in 1930, and during her 37 years on the board, she served 15 consecutive years as chairman. She served on numerous committees vital to Alpine County, including fire prevention, forestry, fish and game, recreation, public land, and health and hospitals.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Gardnerville chapter.
She is survived by a son George, and granddaughter, Denise Dangberg of Gardnerville, and one brother, Grant P. Merrill of Woodville.
A funeral will be held at the Walton Funeral Home in Carson City Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Harold Van Zee will officiate.
Cremation will be in the Mountain View Crematorium.
