CHESTER - Sarah H. Decker, 91, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, in St. Ann's Healthcare Center.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, with the Rev. Mark Willig and Vicar Michael Standfest officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday at Schroeder-McClure Funeral Chapel and noon to 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church Radio Fund.

Mrs. Decker was retired from the International Shoe Factory but was best known for the wonderful, delicious cakes she baked.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

She was born to the late Richard and Anna (Grabe) Herschbach on August 20, 1915, in Kaskaskia Island.

She married William Decker on April 25, 1936, in Perryville, Mo. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1999.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Nancy Dekcer and Robert and Rose Lee Decker, all of Chester; one brother, Albert Herschbach of Bloomington, Minn.; one sister, Vera Sherbert of Ellis Grove; four granddaughters and their spouses, Tammy and Ron Grah, Vickie and David Jany, Jennifer and Ryan Morrison, Rebecca and Eric Rahlfs; and eight great-grandchildren and their spouses, Travis and Morgan Grah, Brooke Grah, Aaron Grah, Nicole and Tony West, Mandy Jany, Staci Jany, Clayton Morrison and Cassidy Morrison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Clifford Richard "Dick" Herschbach and Paul Doza; and two sisters; Clara Biri and Viola Reese.
