Morton -Benjamin O. Rassi, 89, of 1400 Parkside Ave., Unit 120, Morton, died at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton. He was born Sept. 14, 1917, in Morton to Christian and Sarah Rein Rassi. He married Betty L. Roach on Oct. 12, 1940, in Princeville. Surviving are his wife, Betty Rassi of Morton; two daughters, Joyce (and John) Kamp of Washington and Janis (and John) Zimmerman of Morton; one son, James (and Sharon) Rassi of Pekin; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two brothers, Alpha Rassi of Clearwater, Fla., and Clarence (and Dolores) Rassi of Sarasota, Fla. He was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister. Benjamin worked at Chris Zeiler Builders from 1938 to 1940 and at R.G. LeTourneau in Peoria from 1940 to 1944. He was a partner in Roecker Cabinet in Morton for 40 years from 1944 until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Morton Apostolic Christian Church. He was a former member of the Morton Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He also was a former member of the Pine Lakes Sportsman's Club in Washington. His hobbies were golfing, fishing, track, basketball and bowling. He had four holes-in-one on four different golf courses.
