Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Lawrence M. Hansen age 88, who died Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home, Cold Spring. Parish Prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
Lawrence was born in Cold Spring, MN, to John and Mary (Sand) Hansen. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Lawrence married Marie Drontle on September 27, 1955 in the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Cold Spring. He worked for the Cold Spring Granite Company as a hand polisher for 48 years. Lawrence enjoyed gardening, playing cards, dancing and plowing fields. He had a great sense of humor, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; children, Nancy (Michael) Kneip, Karen Hansen, Duane (Lynnae), and Dale; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 14 siblings, Edwald, Roman, Luella Menke, Leo, Andrew, Bernard, Wilfred, Ervin, Rosina Schwegel, Oliva Lardy, Viola Simon, Nicholas, Clarence, and Mary Ann Terwey.
