Patrick Henry "Pat" Glover, 88, of Holland, died March 3, 2007, at Sentara Obici Hospital. Born in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, April 3, 1918, he had lived in Holland since 1938. He was the son of the late Morris Lafayette and Ella Mae Tomlin Glover. Mr. Glover was also predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Hazel Jones Glover; brothers, William Grafton and Odom Smith Glover; and a sister, Madie Glover Daugherty. Mr. Glover was a lifelong Baptist and served as a deacon. He was a well known farmer and trucker in the Suffolk area and was one of the founders of G&G Farm Services. He and his family were recently honored by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, Suffolk Division, as "Farm Family of the Year" of 2007. Mr. Glover was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family and will be deeply missed. Survivors include a son, Morris Henry Glover Sr. and wife Frances of Smithfield; and a daughter, Carolyn Glover Stiener and husband Richard of Clifton, Va. He had six grandchildren, Morris H. (Leslie) Glover Jr. of Suffolk, Nancy Glover (Spencer) Smith of Los Gatos, Calif., Christina Elizabeth Glover of Smithfield, Candice Glover (Derek) Clements of Smithfield, Michael Glover Handley of Los Angeles and Richard C. Stiener II of Charlotte. Mr. Glover also had six great-grandchildren, Ondrea Christina Glover and Kendra Elizabeth Glover of Smithfield, Katie Madison Glover and Cary Thomas Glover of Suffolk, Austin Derek Clements and Peyton Brady Clements of Smithfield. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell & Hill Funeral Home with the Revs. Don Milner and Dolan Talbert officiating. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and other times at 100 Commerce St., Smithfield. The family has requested that memorials be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, VA 23439.
