SFC, Retired, Clarence Roddey Adams, 75 passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.
Mr. Adams was born in Rock Hill and the son of the late Roddy Benjamin Adams and the late Mamie Azalee Blue Adams. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and retired from the U. S. Army as a Sergeant First Class with 24 years 11 months of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his sister, Josephine Adams Wages Hunter.
Services for Mr. Adams will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 18, 2017 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 with Dr. Jim Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park - Cherry Road with full military honors. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 6:30 until 8:00 PM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and other times at the home.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis West Adams; his daughters, Donna Adams Robertson and husband, Mitchell of Dacula, GA, Lisa Adams Rowley and husband, James of Jesup, GA, and Rene "Marsha" Adams of Elk Grove Village, IL; his grandchildren, Wesley Adam Robertson (Lindsey), Kaitlyn Elizabeth Robertson, James Michael Rowley II, Jordan Lee Rowley, Elizabeth Ashley Hunter, and Jennifer Brooke Adams; his brothers, Nelson J. Adams, Franklin D. Adams, Robert J. Adams, and Dewey L. Adams; his sister, Jane Carroll Johnson; and his many nieces and nephews.
