Singer. She was an original member of the Rhythm and Blues musical group The Pips. Starting out as The Pips in 1952, derived from a cousin's nickname, the founding members were Gladys Knight, brother Merald "Bubba" Knight, sister Brenda Knight and cousins William and Eleanor Guest. The group signed with Brunswick Records in 1957. They recorded a few singles that failed to chart. Eleanor eventually left the group to start a family. Eventually the group changed their name to Gladys Knight & The Pips. She died of heart failure. She was a relative to William Franklin Guest, A member of the R&B group Gladys Knight & The Pips.
