James D. Oxenrider Sr., 80, of Pitman, passed away Tuesday at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont.

Jim was born in Leck Kill, May 18, 1937, a son of the late James G. and Sarah Starr Oxenrider.

He served in the Air Force and worked as a stone mason. In his later years, he worked as a foreman with PennDOT.

He enjoyed hunting, attending Penn State football games and loved taking his grandkids on bus trips to Philadelphia Phillies games.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wehry Oxenrider, who passed away in 1973; a grandson, Andrew "Ox" Oxenrider; a stepbrother, Charles S. Harner.

Jim is survived by five children, Debbie, wife of Scott Martz, Fearnot, James D. Jr., husband of Diane Oxenrider, Ashland, John, husband of Elizabeth Oxenrider, Ashland, Jennifer, wife of Nate Schock, Hometown, and Dorian, wife of Nick Bagdonis, Orwigsburg; a half sister, Janie Snyder; two half brothers, Will Spicer and Tom Spicer; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Jamie, Steven, Ashley, Kayla, Ian and Sunny; seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, where the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Rothermel officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery, Klingerstown.
