Early Life: Curtis was born March 5, 1961, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the son of Philip D. and Verna I. Sego Craig.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: He served a mission in Belgium, Luxemburg and France for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Curtis had a passion for education and a gift for teaching. He never missed an opportunity to share his knowledge with others. He dedicated 23 years to American Fork High School and several years to Utah Valley University as an Educator of the Sciences. He attended Brigham Young University where he attained a bachelor's degree and involved himself as a member of their international folk dancing ensemble and JV soccer team. He later earned his master's degree from Westminster College. During his career, he received several notable awards and academic achievements including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching, Tandy Technology Teacher of the Year, served as President of the USTA, helped initiate Hands on Universe, and took the first digital pictures of a solar eclipse in Hawaii in 1991. Ultimately, his greatest satisfaction in life was seeing the success of his students. Curtis had many other passions in life that helped to shape the man that he was which included RSL soccer, coaching high school athletics, riding his Harley, serving in the temple, and most of all, his family. He lead a life that would fill the buckets of three men: full of love, laughter, and without any regrets. Curtis Starlin Craig, of American Fork, Utah, peacefully returned to his heavenly home and reunited with his mother, Verna, on August 15, 2017, with his family by his side. He was 56.
Family Message: "One thing we know that he would want at this time is to thank the many doctors, nurses, and hospital staff that committed their time, skills, and efforts to helping him and his wife through each chapter of their journey."
Survived By: His loving wife of 33 years, Penny Hathaway Craig; his five children: Kimber (Ryan) Shannon, KayDee (Patrick) Wade, Karlee (Jonathan) Greene, Philip (Amber) Craig, Kortnee Craig; his father, Philip D. Craig; his brother, Casey (Miriam) Craig; and his eight grandchildren.
