My mother Bethel Louise Clay Stroder 84, passed away peacefully at Oakwoods nursing home in Mer Rouge,La. she went to be with the lord she was a faithful Christian and loved the Lord and all her family & friends. she was a loving mother,grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. she was a longtime member of Pioneer Assembly of God in Pioneer,La. she was the Sunday School teacher for the beginners class from 1966 until 2014 she had to retire due to declining health. she suffered from Alzheimers disease and injuries from a fall. Bethel was preceded in death by her 2 sons Marion Thomas Stroder and infant son Jeffery Dale Stroder. her husband Emil Thomas Stroder, her mother Saphronia Jane Porter Clay, her father Albert N. Clay. a sister Alberta Diesing, 4 brothers Harold Clay Sr, Roy Clay; C.P. Clay; and Cletus N. Clay; she is survived by 1 son Randy Stroder of Mer Rouge; 5 daughters Janie Stroder of Bryant, Ar; Vicki Drurey of Epps,La; Pattie Berry [husband Robert] of Pioneer,La; Zela Ritchie [husband Tommy] of Pioneer,La; and Peggy Saik [husband Steve] of Florence,Ms; 1 brother Virgil Clay & wife Connie of Bovina,Ms; 3 sisters Donna Johnson of Marion,Ar; Virginia Brown & husband Barney of Vicksburg,Ms; and Gloria Collum of Oak Grove,La; grandchildren Marion Mellisa Nevels, James Drurey, Rebecca Berry Dye, Kevin Ritchie, Jason Berry, Amanda Moore, Jeffery Ritchie and Brandy Saik. sister -in -law Betty Combs and husband Phil of Pearl,Ms; sister-in-law Carolyn Holland of Sullivan,Mo; and 10 great grandchildren. visitation is 4-8 August 18 2017 at Cox Funeral home in Oak Grove,La. funeral services are at 10:00am Saturday August 19, 2017 at Pioneer Assembly of God Church with Rev.Harold Clark officiating.
