DEATH IS SUDDEN TO MRS. KATE CLOPTON
Mrs. Kate Clopton, a former resident of Keya Paha Co, passed away at the Ainsworth hospital late Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Copton has been in poor health for sometime. Her condition became serious a few days ago, and she was admitted to the hospital Wednesday planning to undergo an operation. Death came before an operation could be performed. She leaves two sons, Ira and Ray of Sprinview, two daughters, Mrs. Gerald Osborn, Ainsworth and Mrs. Chas. Meyers, Council Bluffs IA.

LAST RITES FOR MRS. KATE CLOPTON
Kate E. Clopton was born April 8, 1864, at Bedford IA and passed from this life at Ainsworth, October 9, at the age of 76 years.

The deceased was the eldest daughter of the late John L. Blakely, a pioneer minister of Keya Paha Cc. Her girlhood was spent in the care of her younger brothers and sisters and assisting her father in his church work. She moved to Nebraska with her father in 1883, where she encountered all the hardships and trials connected with pioneer life.
She was united in marriage with David A. Clopton on January 1, 1887, at Springview NE. They settled on one of the first homestead in Keya Paha Co, and this place is still in possession of the family.

In 1920 she and her husband moved to Ainsworth, where in 1922 Mr. Clopton preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Baptist church, and from early childhood until her death she was active in religious work.
She leaves to moun her loss four children, Mrs. Myrtle Myers, Council Bluffs IA; Ira B. and W. Ray Clopton of Springville; Mrs. Wilda Osborn, Ainsworth. Three brothers, Wilbur, Preston and Percy Blakely, one sister, Mrs. Vinnie Rasmussen, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild and a host of fiends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Will Schroeder from the Jessen Funeral Home on Saturday, October 12th. Interment was made in the Ainsworth cemetery.
