She worked as an office manager for the Journal Tribune for many years, retiring at the age of 72. During retirement she volunteered extensively earning many prestigious awards. She was a member of Altrusa and received the Mary Rines Thompson award. She also received the Appreciation Award from Thornton Academy and the 1995-1996 Presidential Award from the White House for dedicating over 4,000 hours to community service. She volunteered for Southern Maine Medical Center, The Governor's Volunteer Service, Hospice Volunteers of Saco Valley and Visiting Nurses of Southern Maine, Agency on Aging. She also volunteered for the Alzheimer's Association, several Veterans' Associations, and the National Cancer Society.
She was predeceased by her husband Roland Bouchard, her son Wayne Bouchard and her siblings Helen, Mildred, Priscilla, Alec, Nancy, Franklyn, Susanne and Yvonne.
She is survived by her daughter Jackie Sullivan of Manchester Connecticut, her three grandchildren Ryan Sullivan of Tolland, Connecticut, Jennifer Sullivan of West Hartford, Connecticut and Dusty Bouchard of Biddeford. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren, Delaney, Evangeline, Savannah, and Jaxon, her sister Janet Huot and her husband Ernie and several nieces and nephews.
A Visiting Hour will be from 9:30 – 10:30AM Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.
