Elizabeth Ann Mayo 78 of Guntersville passed away at her residence, Sunday, August 13, 2017.

Mrs. Mayo was born in Swearingen Alabama and she was a member of the Guntersville Church of Christ.

Mrs. Mayo was a graduate of Marshall County High School, class of 1957.

Elizabeth tirelessly worked to help organize the reunions for Marshall County High School. S

he was an avid runner and she also helped to organize the Wild Irish Run in Guntersville, She also was a supporter of the Coach Chorba, Lee Scholarship Fund, and she worked as a volunteer at the Guntersville Museum.

Elizabeth worked for 20 plus years at Guntersville Concrete, and she worked for Crane Oil Company and M & S Construction. Elizabeth loved her family, her dog Barney, the University of Alabama and she was a diehard NASCAR fan.

She is preceded in death by her Husband, Robert Lee Mayo, parents: Robert G. Rice and Lorena Dobbins Rice, Sister, Betty Sue Thrash, Brother, Harold Rice, Sister, Eloise Tankersley, Brother, Bobby Joe Rice and Brother, TJ Rice.

She is survived by her sons, David Mayo (Pamela) and Robert Mayo (Lisa), Sisters, Linda Gail Lang, Judy Reynolds (Aaron) and Angel Clark (Ed). Grandchildren: Amanda Martin (Chris), Stephen Mayo (Crista), Thomas Mayo and Darrick Baker (Brittney), Great Grand Children: Hannah Martin, Hailey Martin, Landen Mayo, Luke Baker, Emma Baker, Bryson Baker and Karlie Baker.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, August 15, 2017 at Guntersville Memorial Chapel from 6 until 8pm. Funeral Service is Private.
