SUITER
The death of Capt. John H. Suiter, at his home on a farm a mile and a half from LeClaire, is of more than passing interest to the old settlers of this county. Mr. Suiter was born in West Port, O., 73 years ago. He died June 6, having been in this state and county just 60 years and two days. He was a pilot in the old days when rafts were handled with sweeps. He has two brothers, Jacob and William, the former being a rapids pilot now. He leaves a family of several sons. He was esteemed as a good citizen and neighbor and his funeral, which was held Sunday, was largely attended.
