Debra Sue Arnold (Debi) beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, friend and matriarch passed away unexpectantly and went home to be with Jesus on Saturday August 5th, 2017. Debi was cherished, loved and adored by all of those who knew her.

Debi was preceded in death by her beloved son, Brian David Arnold; her mother, Ruth Marie Scheurn; her father, Jack Scheurn; and her brother-in-law, Edward Lloyd Arnold.

Debi was born in Santa Monica, California, on December 12th, 1952, to Ruth and John (Jack). She was the younger of two girls and was very close to her older sister Peggy.

Debi attended University High School in West Los Angeles and graduated in 1970. She worked at General Telephone in Santa Monica and married John Arnold, his first and only love on May 13th, 1972, in Santa Monica, California. Debi and John were blessed with their first child, Jennifer Dee on January 17, 1975, and their son, Brian David on April 12, 1977.

Debi, John and family relocated to northern California in 1977 where she was instrumental in encouraging John to pursue a law enforcement career. Debi was a fantastic cop's wife and was the glue that kept her family together all the while working for the State of California at Cal Trans, while raising three children.

Debi and John were blessed with the birth of their 3rd child, Mathew John on May 18th, 1982, and soon after were again blessed with the birth of her grandchildren Katelynn, Kodie, Jordan, Kaylee and later on Brian Mathew.

Tragedy struck on March 6th, 1996, when Brian David was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident. Although heartbroken, Debi stayed strong for her son, daughter, grandchildren and husband and together they weathered this tragedy.

To Debi nothing was more important than family and friends and she never forgot birthdays, anniversaries, or holidays. Debi was instrumental in making sure the family took a family vacation every year and loved spending time in Chester camping, backyard family barbeques and traveling. She also loved her puppies Mia, Mickey and Maddie and made sure whenever possible the puppies also accompanied the family in the family's travels.

Debi loved going to Cornerstone Evangelical Church in Yuba City and was a member of Senior Sisters and the Cornerstone Ladies Quilt Club. She also loved going to our grandson Jordan's baseball games. Debi was the motivating force in influencing her family to attend church with her as she wanted them to know Jesus the way she did. She also loved to play Bunco with "the girls" once a month and even won once in a while.

After 25 years with Cal Trans Debi retired and she and John traveled to Italy, Cancun, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Hawaii, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Puerto Rico and the Cayman Islands.

Debi was one of the most beautiful ladies inside and out that the good lord ever put on this earth.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday August 9th, 2017, between 4:00 and 7:00 PM at Ullrey's Funeral Chapel, 817 Almond Street, Yuba City. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday August 10th, 2017, at 3:00 PM at Cornerstone Church 700 Washington Avenue, Yuba City and a reception will follow at Conerstone's Fellowship Hall.
