Tamar Gile has an unusual given name and various spellings exist on records, inclusing Tamor, Tammer, and Tamer. Her family residedin Plaistow, NH, which borders the Massachusetts state line, including Haverhill, MA. She married Robert Sargent in Amesbury, MA on Sept. 9, 1811 and the couple soon moved to Haverhill, MA, where they remained.
The couple had at least six known children, three of whom survived infancy. Tamar died of "typhoid and lung fever."
