BERNARD EUGENE CREEGAN, 73, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Thursday, August 10, 2017, at the Meritus Medical Center. Born Sunday, January 23, 1944 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Bernard D. Creegan and the late Ruth (Stevens) Creegan.

Bernie graduated from LaSalle High School in Cumberland in 1962. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served on the USS Springfield a guided missile cruiser in the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Following his discharge from the Navy, he was employed with the Celanese Corporation until the plant closed in 1983, then was employed as a correction officer with the state of Maryland (MCI) following that with Callas Contractors, Inc., Hagerstown Paint & Glass and finally with Triad Construction as a Lead Contractor / Master Carpenter until he retired in 2006. Bernie was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Knights of Colombus, I.W.L.A and the Lancaster Fencibles.

He is survived by his wife Patricia A. Creegan; children, Todd, Jennifer, Brendan, Lori & James; sister, Mary and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred and faithful pets, Ladydog, Sandydog and William the Squirrel

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church, Hagerstown, MD. Interment will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.
