Josephine Bosek, 92, of Glenwood, Minnesota, died November 14, 1993 at Lakeview Good Samaritan Center in Glenwood.
Josephine was born September 26, 1901 in Ben Wade Township, Pope County of the parents John and Teckla (Bisek) Brosh. She attended Lowry School District No. 30 and lived in Billings, Montana for a short period working in a laundry and cleaning establishment.
On September 28, 1927, Josephine was united in marriage to John Bosek at St. John Nepomuk, Lake Reno. This marriage was blessed with four children. They farmed in Ben Wade Township until 1971. John passed away in 1971. Josephine moved to Glenwood in 1972. During the next 18 years she also intermittently lived in Bettendorf, Iowa and Glenwood. In Iowa she lived with her daughter and son-in-law Marliss and Roger Nelson. In September, 1990, she became a resident of Lakeview Good Samaritan Home in Glenwood.
She was a charter member of the Gust F. Holden American Legion Auxiliary in Lowry. She also enjoyed being with her family and friends and various activities including quilting, crocheting, embroidering and craft work.
She is survived by her three sons: Floyd and wife Darlene of Alexandria; John and wife Arlene of Alexandria; and Dennis and wife Rosie of Glenwood; daughter Marliss (Mrs. Roger) Nelson of Bettendorf, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; two sisters: Florence (Mrs. Ed) Kaldahl of Glenwood and Frances Flynn of Starbuck. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, husband John F. in 1971, one sister, Mary Chan and six brothers: Mike, John, Joe, Adolph, Frank and Freddie.
Mass of Christian Burial was November 18, 1993 at St. John Nepomuk Church in Lowry, with Father Frank Poncelet officiating. Honorary bearers were Tom Bosek, Jeff Bosek, Kevin Bosek, Kathleen Rittenour, Deb Revering, Bernice Mikkelson, Becky Viergutz and Tammy Nelson. Casket Bearers were Johnnie Bosek, James Bosek, Bryan Bosek, Bruce Bosek, Ken Nelson and Joe Nelson.
Arrangements were with the Hoplin Funeral Chapel in Glenwood.
